17Gladden Spit, Belize
Perhaps best known for the famous Great Blue Hole, Gladden Spit is also known for its local sharks. Visit in the
months of April, May or June and you will be able to go snorkeling or diving with a great whale shark. It is reported by those in the know that during these three months the whale sharks are in the best of moods.
The official whale shark season starts a couple of days prior to the full moon and ends 10 days after (during the months of March, April, May, and June.) There are diving and snorkeling options apropos to all levels of experience too.
