On September 11, 2024, Alexander Yuk Ching Ma, 71, of Honolulu, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for conspiring to gather and deliver national defense information to the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Ma was arrested in August 2020 after admitting to an undercover FBI agent that he had facilitated the provision of classified information to PRC intelligence officers.

Separately, Brian Jeffrey Raymond, 48, a former CIA officer, was sentenced to 30 years in prison for drugging, sexually assaulting, and filming more than two dozen women across multiple countries between 2006 and 2020. Raymond targeted victims through dating apps and other means, creating explicit content without their knowledge. His crimes were uncovered after a woman was found screaming for help from his Mexico City apartment in May 2020.
